Pilatus

Le Pilatus est un appareil particulièrement laid que nous rencontrons sur certains aéroports. En général, il provoque une certaine crainte,  il annonce l'arrivée de parachutistes dans notre ciel. Mais cette grosse bétaillère volante fut aussi utilisée par la Royal Australian Air Force au Vietnam...

RAAF - Vietnam 1971

Delivered to the 1st Aviation Regiment at RAAF Base Amberley Qld on 16/01/69 after being flown to Australia from Stans in Switzerland. Served with 161 (Indep) Recce Flight in Vietnam from January 1971 until January 1972. Major servicing in Vietnam by Air America at Saigon Airport. Withdrawn from service in Vietnam in December 1971 and returned to Australia aboard Japanese Freighter "Harima Maru" in January 1972. Served with 173 Gen Spt Sqn at Oakey post January 1974. On 23 March 1977 aircraft was damaged beyond repair when it heavy landed at Buchambool NSW.

Damaged 13/05/70 etc. Major servicing in Vietnam by Air America at Saigon Airport. Withdrawn from service in Vietnam in December 1971 and returned to Australia aboard Japanese Freighter "Harima Maru"  in January 1972.
